Dallara F2 2018

Automobiles

The Dallara F2 2018, first known as the F2/18, is an open-wheel racing car built by the Italian manufacturer Dallara for the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the feeder series for Formula One. It was introduced for the 2018 season to replace the ageing Dallara GP2/11 and, because Formula 2 is a spec series, every team and driver raced it. Development began in late 2015, the first chassis was assembled in May 2017, and it carries the halo cockpit protection device, a lower nose and a wider rear wing. A new 3.4 litre turbocharged V6 from Mecachrome replaced the old naturally aspirated V8, the first turbo engine in a Dallara Formula 2 car. Its launch was troubled by stalling starts, and it was replaced by the Dallara F2 2024 from the 2024 season.
