The Dallara F189 was the Formula One car with which BMS Scuderia Italia contested the 1989 season, designed by Giampaolo Dallara and Mario Tollentino as an evolution of the previous year's F188. It was powered by Cosworth DFR V8 engines prepared by Heini Mader. The team expanded to two cars, with Alex Caffi joined by the experienced Andrea de Cesaris, who finished third at the rain-affected Canadian Grand Prix, the car's best result and the first of two podiums that Scuderia Italia achieved in Formula One. Caffi finished fourth at Monaco and sixth in Canada, and the team's eight points placed it eighth in the Constructors' Championship.
