The Convair XF-92 is an American experimental aircraft first flown in 1948, built as the first delta winged jet aircraft in the United States to test the delta configuration for a planned supersonic interceptor. Though the interceptor program it was meant to lead to was cancelled, the aerodynamic data it produced fed directly into later Convair delta winged designs, including the F-102 and F-106 interceptors and the B-58 supersonic bomber.

The XF-92A's first flight was on 18 September 1948 with Convair test pilot Ellis D. 'Sam' Shannon at the controls.
