Cessna 408 SkyCourier

General Aviation and Light Aircraft

The Cessna 408 SkyCourier is an American twin-turboprop, high-wing utility aircraft designed and built by Cessna, a division of Textron Aviation. It was launched on 28 November 2017 with an order for 50 cargo aircraft from FedEx Express, which wanted an aircraft that could haul 6,000 pounds, twice the payload of the Cessna 208 Caravan, and take whole LD3 unit load devices. It first flew on 17 May 2020 and was type certified on 11 March 2022, and FedEx took the first production aircraft in May 2022. The non-pressurized aluminium airframe has fixed landing gear and Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A engines, and the type comes as a 19-passenger regional airliner, a freighter for three LD3 containers, or a nine-seat combi. A special missions variant has also been announced.
