Bristol W

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Bristol W was a four cylinder petrol chassis built by the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company with a body by Bristol. The Bristol CV Buses website records that the W was produced in 1915 and that only one was built, a bus that went to Bristol Tramways itself. Grace's Guide says the company launched the W model in 1915 and that the W was developed in 1920 into the 4 ton chassis, with production of the W recorded as ceasing in 1931 and almost 650 units sold, around 130 of them in commercial form. The two sources therefore describe the W differently, the website as a single chassis of 1915 and the guide as the name of a longer lived model, so only what each page states is recorded here.
