Bristol SC

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Bristol SC, short for small capacity, was a lightweight single deck bus and coach built as a joint venture between Bristol Commercial Vehicles and Eastern Coach Works. The Bristol CV Buses website records production between 1954 and 1961, four cylinder Gardner engines, a B35F bus layout and a C33F coach layout, and 323 vehicles built. Lincolnshire took 113, Eastern Counties 88 and Crosville 79, with smaller numbers for Eastern National, United Counties, Cumberland, Thames Valley and Red and White. Grace's Guide lists the SC among the models of the Bristol bus range with a start date of 1955, a year later than the website, so the sources differ slightly on when it began.
