Bristol HA

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Bristol HA was a heavy articulated lorry tractor unit built by Bristol Commercial Vehicles for British Road Services. The Bristol CV Buses website records a total of 653 built, of which 621 went to British Road Services, 30 to its contract fleet and two to Bristol Commercial Vehicles itself, with bodies by Bristol and by Longwell Green Coachworks. The Wikipedia article on the company adds that body construction at Brislington ceased in 1955 and that the designs for the HA lorry cab were handed over to Longwell Green Coachworks, a company based near Bristol. The HA belongs to the group of goods vehicles that the firm built after nationalisation, alongside the eight wheel HG.
