BMX Bicycle

Bicycles and Human-Powered Road Vehicles

The BMX bicycle is a small, sturdy single speed bicycle developed in the United States in the early 1970s, inspired by children imitating motocross racing on pedal bikes. Its light weight, small frame and durable construction made it suited to off road racing and, later, freestyle trick riding, and it grew into both a competitive Olympic sport and a lasting youth culture.
