The Avro 642 Eighteen was a 1930s British monoplane airliner, and only two were built, one twin-engined and the other four-engined. As a follow-on to the Avro 618 Ten it used a modified Ten wing moved to the shoulder position with the engines mounted on it, and a new, larger welded-steel fuselage seating 16 passengers, making it the largest aircraft Avro had designed when the design was completed in February 1933. The twin-engined G-ACFV was handed over to Midland and Scottish Air Ferries on 6 April 1934 and used on the Glasgow, London and Belfast service. The four-engined aircraft, built for the Viceroy of India, was delivered in December 1934 and used in British India until 1940.
