The Ansaldo armored car was a prototype armored fighting vehicle built by Ansaldo in 1925. It was based on a Pavesi P4 heavy tractor, and the prototype was armed with a 45 mm or 37 mm cannon mounted in a turret. It ran on four wheels of 1,500 mm (59.1 in) diameter fitted with tyres 400 mm (16 in) wide. The engine was placed at the front, behind a radiator protected by armor plates. Poor visibility and driving difficulties led to the abandonment of the project, so the design never went into series production. The sources group it with comparable armored vehicles of the same role and era, such as the Lancia IZM.
