The Africa Twin was the CRF1000L between 2016 and 2019, available in the UK from late 2015 and in the US from early 2016. It revived the Africa Twin line as a modern take on the XRV750 and XRV650, and Honda saw it as an answer to heavier adventure touring motorcycles aimed more at the road, such as the BMW R1200GS, the Ducati Multistrada and the Triumph Tiger Explorer.
