The VFR800F (RC79) went on sale for 2014 after its debut at EICMA in November 2013, with a new single sided exhaust system, lighter wheels, traction control, a new instrument panel and LED lighting, and two front mounted radiators replaced the side mounted ones. In the US market it was available in Standard and Deluxe versions, the Deluxe adding ABS, traction control, grip heaters, center stand and self-canceling turn signals, while outside the US only the Deluxe version was sold.
