The 1988 model year gave the TRX250R its most dramatic changes. The compression ratio was raised for more power, bringing it nearly on par with the Kawasaki Tecate-4, and the chassis shed 25 pounds. A shorter aluminum swing arm was added, the frame lengthened, which cured the loop out problem, and the headlight moved to the hood. 1988 was the only year with red fenders. This page belongs to the Honda TRX250R (single generation), 1986 to 1989 model years; the generation page and the Honda TRX250R model page link to the other model years, so the changes of neighbouring years can be read in order.
