Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Fincantieri is an Italian shipbuilding company headquartered in Trieste, and the only operator active in every segment of high-tech shipbuilding, from cruise and naval ships to offshore units and underwater solutions. It was officially founded on 29 December 1959 as a financial company controlling the main Italian state shipyards, drawing on more than two centuries of yard history and over seven thousand ships built. It became an operating company in 1984. Today it runs a production network of 18 shipyards worldwide with more than 24,000 employees, is listed on the Milan stock exchange and is 64.21 percent owned by CDP Equity, the holding company of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Since 1995 it has held more than a quarter of the world cruise ship market, and it builds ships such as Costa Fortuna at its Sestri Ponente yard.
