Riley

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Riley is a British car marque from Coventry that began as the Riley Cycle Company, took up motor cars at the end of the nineteenth century and made a name for itself with compact, lively sporting saloons and tourers. It joined the Nuffield group in 1938, passed into British Leyland in 1968 and was closed down by British Leyland in 1969, when Riley cars became badge engineered BMC cars. The Riley trademark is owned by BMW today, which holds it as part of the old Rover Group rights.
