The Dodge Airflow truck was a special-request truck that Dodge introduced in late 1934 and kept available through 1940. It took its styling cues from the Chrysler Airflow cars and from the 1937 Divco Model B delivery vans. Most of the 265 built were fitted with streamlined tank bodies and used by major oil companies such as Texaco, Socony-Vacuum and Esso. The trucks were based on standard Dodge models, so from an engineering point of view they were conventional despite the striking look. Garwood Industries and Heil of Milwaukee were among the builders of the tank bodies, and a restored 1940 RX70 Texaco tanker is displayed in Invercargill, New Zealand.
