The Isuzu D-Max is a pickup truck that Isuzu has built since 2002 as the successor to the Faster, compact in its first two generations and mid-size from the third. The first two generations share a platform with the Chevrolet Colorado, and the third shares its platform with the Mazda BT-50, built in the same Isuzu plant in Thailand. Isuzu introduced its DDi iTEQ common-rail diesel engine family for the truck in October 2004, starting with a 3.0 litre turbo diesel. In Australia and New Zealand the first D-Max was sold as the Holden Rodeo from 2003 to 2008 before it was relaunched as the Holden Colorado, while the Isuzu-badged D-Max joined it in 2008. The D-Max has an SUV counterpart on the same platform, the MU-7 and then the MU-X.
