Western Star 4900

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Western Star 4900 Series was a multi-use truck and tractor aimed at a variety of industries, with a 123-inch bumper-to-back-of-cab length. It could be built as a tractor with a fifth wheel, as a bare chassis for a bodybuilder to outfit, or as a lowered-cab Low Max model for auto hauling, and it was offered in five configurations including Extreme Duty and Twin Steer. In May 2015 the Daimler Truck North America plant in Cleveland, North Carolina began to build 4700 and 4900 models. Western Star, bought by DaimlerChrysler in 2000 and placed in its Freightliner Trucks division, lists the 4900 among the models it previously offered.
