Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Guy Lizard Armoured Command Vehicle was a British command vehicle built during the Second World War. In May and June 1940 the headquarters of the 1st Armoured Division in France used mild steel prototypes and wooden mock-ups, and later that year Guy Motors produced the first armoured steel command vehicles on its Lizard 4x4 chassis. Twenty-one were built, and by early 1941 some were issued to the headquarters of the 7th Armoured Division in the North African Campaign and to formations in the United Kingdom. Guy could not continue production, so a new design was prepared on an AEC chassis.
