The Dodge M37 was a three-quarter-ton four-wheel-drive truck developed for the United States military as the successor to the Dodge-built WC series of the Second World War. Put into service in 1951, it served in many configurations on the front line in the Korean and Vietnam Wars before commercial-based one-and-a-quarter-ton trucks, the Kaiser M715 and the Dodge M880 and M890, replaced it. A conventional pickup-style bed replaced the platform of the wartime vehicle, which simplified production, and it shared much of its drivetrain and engine with the immediate postwar WDX Power Wagons although no sheet metal was shared.
