Unimog 437

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Unimog 437 is a series of medium-heavy and heavy trucks in the Unimog family, built under the Mercedes-Benz name and introduced in 1988. It grew out of the earlier 425 and 435 series, whose basic structure it kept. The first generation, designated 437.1, was built from 1988 until 2003 in 28 different models, which made it the most comprehensive Unimog series; 10,718 vehicles were produced, including the first standard three-axle model. A second generation, designated 437.4, was presented at the IAA in Hanover in 2002 and is built at the Mercedes-Benz truck plant in Wörth, with a comprehensive facelift in 2013. It keeps the angular driver cab that first appeared on the heavy Unimog series in 1974, and its model names moved from engine-power figures to the numbers U 3000, U 4000 and U 5000. The chassis of the 437.4 also carries the Dingo 2.
