Renault ZY

The Renault ZY is a utility vehicle model produced by the French company Renault in the early 1930s. Its production dates are, with petrol engines, the ZYAB in 1932 and 1933, the ZYAC in 1933 and 1934, the ZYAC1 in 1934 and 1935 and the ZYAE in 1935 and 1936; with diesel engines, the ZYDB in 1932 and 1933 or 1934, the ZYDC in 1933 and 1934, the ZYDE in 1935 and the ZYDA1 in 1937 and 1938; and the ZYAH with a producer-gas unit in 1941. It comes in two chassis lengths and with many bodies: as a light truck with a payload of 2.5 tonnes it can take a metal van body, a refuse tipper or serve as a fire first-aid vehicle, and bodied for passengers it is a 21 to 23 seat coach or a 26-seat bus, notably twelve for the Courriers picards and ten for the Paris-region transport company. It has a four-cylinder in-line petrol engine of 120 by 129 mm or a four-cylinder diesel of 96 by 150 mm, both with overhead valves.
