Renault TR

The Renault TR is a heavy goods vehicle model produced by the French company Renault from 1930 to 1932. At the end of 1930 Renault stopped making its last commercial vehicles with the gendarme's hat bonnet and adopted vertical grilles with the radiator in front, in a highly modular range with many standardised parts. Within that range the TR truck has a payload of 5.5 tonnes and so replaces the Renault SG of 1928. The versions TR and TR1 were produced from 1930 to 1931; the diesel versions TRD4 and TR1D4 and the producer-gas versions TRG and TR1G were produced from 1931 to 1932; and the diesel TRBD4 was produced only in 1931. The TR has a four-cylinder petrol engine of 110 by 160 mm with 60 hp (23 CV commercial rating), while the diesel version has a four-cylinder of 115 by 170 mm developed in-house by Renault since 1929. According to an article in the Renault commercial bulletin in favour of diesel power, a TR uses 42 litres per 100 km on petrol or 25 litres per 100 km on diesel.
