Renault SF

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Renault SF was a Renault truck with a payload of 3.5 to 4 tonnes, made from 1928 to 1930 under the types SF and SF1, with pneumatic tyres and solid tyres respectively. A producer-gas variant, the SFG, was made in 1929 and 1930, as the SFG on pneumatic tyres and the SF1G on solid tyres. The payload was 3.5 tonnes, with two chassis lengths offered in 1928 and 1929, a normal one with a 3.95 m wheelbase and a long one with a 4.35 m wheelbase; at the end of 1929 the chassis was strengthened and lengthened and the payload raised to 4.0 tonnes. The French Army bought about two to four SFG and SF1G trucks. The SF1 has a four-cylinder engine of 100 by 160 mm rated at 20 CV under the front bonnet, shaft drive and servo-assisted brakes on all four wheels.
