Renault Mascott

The Renault Mascott is a heavy utility vehicle and a small medium-distance truck made by Renault V.I., which became Renault Trucks in 2002. Produced from 1999 to 2010 as the replacement for the Gamme B, it is also known as the Master Propulsion in France and the Master Pro in the Netherlands. It is built at the SOVAB plant in Batilly, which also builds the Master. Though it looks like the Master it is a separate vehicle, a small truck in the 3.5 to 6.5 tonne range with a separate chassis and two rigid axles with twin rear wheels, and from the Master it takes only the cab designed with Iveco for the Daily 2 and its doors. Production of phase I began in 1999 and sales in May 1999, phase II replaced it in summer 2004, and production stopped for good in 2010, when the Master III took its place. It was first fitted with the Sofim 8140 diesel engine of 130 and 150 hp with a five then six-speed manual gearbox, and has four ventilated disc brakes with ABS as standard.
