The Nash Haul Thrift was a short series of trucks that Nash Motors built from 1947 to 1954, mostly for export and sold in the United States only to Nash dealers, who used them as tow trucks with Ashton power wrecker bodies. The trucks were shipped complete or as knock-down kits for assembly by affiliates in Canada, Mexico and elsewhere. Cabs and fenders came from the 1946 to 1948 Nash 600 car and the dashboard from the Ambassador, which made them plusher than rivals. Power came from the Ambassador straight six detuned to 104 horsepower, on a heavy-duty frame in 133 or 157 inch wheelbases with stake, dump, van or crane bodies, rated at 14,500 or 16,000 pounds gross weight.
