Morris WE

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Morris WE, also sold as the Austin S203, S403 and S503, was a bonneted truck built by the British Motor Corporation from 1955. Revised in 1964 it became the Morris WF and Austin S303, and from 1968 the BMC WF, then from 1970 the Leyland WF until 1981, when the Leyland Landmaster replaced it. Morris had concentrated on cab-over-engine trucks, while the Austin Loadstar it succeeded was a heavier construction and export truck, so one range now came with 2, 4 or 5 ton payloads under either badge. Power was a 3,995 cc BMC six-cylinder K-series petrol engine of 90 bhp or a 3.1-litre diesel, with a 5,103 cc direct-injection diesel for the 5 ton.
