The Morris J2 was a small forward-control van made by Morris Commercial from 1956 until 1967, with the driver sitting above the engine so that the load space took up most of the vehicle length. It was powered by the BMC B-Series petrol engine, first in a 1,489 cc size and later enlarged to 1,622 cc. For its first years it was sold beside the older and slightly smaller Morris JB-type, and from 1960 the smaller Morris J4 followed the same layout. The van was marketed under two badges, as the Morris J2 and as the Austin J2 or Austin 152, a typical product of the badge sharing that followed the merger that created the British Motor Corporation. A well known passenger was a J2 owned by Allan Williams, the manager of the Beatles, which carried the band to their first residency in Hamburg in August 1960.
