The Mercedes-Benz T2 was a semi-bonneted light commercial vehicle made by Daimler-Benz and known as the Düsseldorf Transporter because it was built in Düsseldorf from 1967 to 1991. It was introduced in 1967 as the successor of the L 319 and L 406 series and was offered as a panelled or glazed van, a minibus or a light truck with single or double cab, with gasoline and diesel engines and gross weights of 3.5 to 6.8 tons in the first generation, which ended in 1986 after 496,447 units. A second generation ran from 1986 to 1996 and sold widely as a minibus chassis in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and the Vario replaced it in 1996. The T2 was also assembled in Argentina and, as the L3, in Venezuela.
