The Mercedes-Benz N1300 was a light commercial vehicle designed and built in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Basque Country of northern Spain, by the Spanish subsidiary IMOSA. Its body descended from the Fissore-designed DKW F1000 L van of 1963. In 1975 that van was redesigned and renamed the Mercedes-Benz N 1000, sold only with the 1.8 litre OM636 diesel engine, which gave 47 PS (35 kW), and with a reworked front and rear, a new dashboard and a fully synchronised four speed gearbox. From 1976 the N 1300 was added, with a payload of 1,300 kilograms and the larger 2 litre OM615 diesel. In September 1980 it was succeeded by the rebodied Mercedes-Benz MB100 and MB130. The Spanish operation changed hands along the way, with Volkswagen pulling out in November 1976 and Mercedes-Benz taking a larger interest.
