Fiat 618

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Fiat 618 was a light Italian lorry built by Fiat Veicoli Industriali from 1934 to 1937 as the successor to the Fiat 621. It was a two-axle truck with steering front wheels and driven, paired rear wheels, powered by the Fiat 118 engine taken from the Fiat 518 Ardita. Coachbuilders fitted it as a van, a fire engine and, in a few examples built for the Istituto Luce in 1936, a travelling cinema by Viberti. A colonial military version, the Fiat 618C, entered production in 1935 ahead of the Ethiopian campaign and was also used in the Spanish Civil War. Polski Fiat built the 618 under licence in Poland as the PF 618 Grom.
