Fiat 615

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Fiat 615 was a light truck made by Fiat from 1951 to 1953 as the successor to the Fiat 1100 ELR, which stayed in production beside it. Fiat V.I., the maker, introduced it after the Second World War to fill the gap between the 1100 ELR van, limited to 990 kg, and the larger medium trucks, with a payload of 1.55 tonnes and a total weight of 3,100 kg. It was sold as a stake truck, a van or a chassis cab, on a ladder frame with a contemporary cab, and used a 1395 cc engine of 29 kW and a four speed gearbox taken from the Fiat 1400 and 1900. A diesel version, the 615 N, followed, and Zastava in Yugoslavia built it under licence. It was the first bonneted truck of this size that Fiat had made since the Fiat 618 of the 1930s..
