The Fiat 605 was a chassis for a light civilian lorry, launched in 1926 by the Italian maker Fiat V.I. and built until 1929. It was a conventional two-axle, rear-drive chassis fitted with the Fiat 112 six-cylinder petrol engine of 3,446 cubic centimetres, developing 46 horsepower at 2,400 revolutions a minute. It was used for two distinct models: a cab-chassis for lorries and for conversion by specialist coachbuilders, and a bus seating 27 passengers. The 605S bus version arrived in 1927 and stayed in the catalogue until the end of 1929, when the Fiat 614 replaced it. A similar, less powerful model with a lower total load was sold as the Fiat 603.
