The Dodge 100 Commando, also known as the Dodge Commando 100 Series, was a range of 7.5 to 28 short ton trucks that Dodge built in England, mainly in the 1970s and 1980s. An earlier Dodge 100, the parrot-nose or Kew Dodge of the 1950s, was built in Kew, London. When Chrysler Europe gained a controlling interest in the Rootes Group, owner of Commer, the design and name were changed to complement the Dodge 500 trucks. The Dodge 100 was meant to use a Rootes diesel, but noise rules ruled it out, so naturally aspirated and turbocharged four- and six-cylinder Perkins diesels built in the United Kingdom were used, with the Mercedes-Benz OM352 as a premium engine.
