Renault TT

The Renault TT is a road tractor model produced by the French company Renault in the early 1930s. At the end of 1930 Renault stopped making its last commercial vehicles with the gendarme's hat bonnet and adopted vertical grilles with the radiator at the front, and at the same time launched its first diesel engines for road transport, an in-line four-cylinder of 7 litres and an in-line six-cylinder of 10.5 litres, both with direct injection, built on its marine diesel experience. Within that range the TT is a heavy road tractor able to tow 12 tonnes of payload, initially available with a four-cylinder petrol engine or a four-cylinder diesel. For 1932 Renault also offered six-cylinder diesel and petrol engines on the TT, and at the end of 1932 it adopted a new overhead-valve six-cylinder petrol engine. At the end of 1933 Renault announced the end of production of the four-cylinder TT tractors. The gearbox has five forward gears and one reverse.
