Renault Premium

The Renault Premium is a heavy-duty truck produced by the French maker Renault Véhicules Industriels and later Renault Trucks from 1996 to 2014. It was sold alongside the Renault Magnum as a slightly lower-positioned alternative, and a version for lighter construction work, the Premium Lander, sat beneath the heavy-duty Kerax. The Premium was mainly used as a distribution truck, competing with trucks such as the DAF CF and the Volvo FM. At launch it was available with a 9.8 or 11.1 litre six-cylinder diesel engine, and later Euro IV engines came from the parent company Volvo Trucks. The Premium Distribution is a transporter with a gross vehicle mass of 16 to 32 tonnes and a road tractor for a semi-trailer with a gross mass of 40 or 44 tonnes, designed to replace the G range. Renault Trucks showed the Hybris hybrid concept based on it in September 2007, a near-production diesel-electric Hybrys Tech version began testing in Lyon in 2009 with 340 horsepower, and in 2014 the standard models were replaced by the D range.
