Renault ADS and ADT

The Renault ADS and ADT were two heavy trucks made by the French company Renault in 1937. Both models have a forward cab and only a six-cylinder diesel engine, and they were presented at the Paris heavy truck show in October 1936. They were produced only in 1937, under the factory codes ADS D1 and ADT D1, and the ADT was itself offered in two chassis lengths. The article gives the ADS and the ADT a payload of 7.5 tonnes each. Both use a six-cylinder diesel of 125 by 170 mm with overhead valves, developing 130 hp at 1,500 rpm, a gearbox with five forward speeds and one reverse, with an overdrive on the long ADT that doubles the number of ratios, a single-reduction rear axle on the ADS and a double-reduction one on the ADT, and left-hand steering by worm and roller. Loaded, the ADS reaches 61 km/h and the ADT 51 km/h, and the long ADT reaches 66.5 km/h empty with its overdrive.
