Mercedes-Benz Zetros

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Mercedes-Benz Zetros is an off-road truck for extreme operations, first presented at the 2008 Eurosatory defence industry trade show in Paris and initially produced only at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, Germany. It is built as a chassis, tipper or tractor in 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 versions, with engine power from 360 hp (265 kW) up to 510 hp (375 kW). It was designed to be compatible with the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and to fit a standard German railway carriage. A 2019 facelift brought a more powerful engine, a 12,816 cc six-cylinder diesel used in all variants, with a 16-speed manual gearbox and a top speed of 55 mph. Armed forces of Algeria, Bulgaria, Chile, Finland, France, Germany, Poland and Ukraine use it, and civilian users include mining and fire-fighting operators.
