Fiat 300 (truck)

The Fiat 300, also called the Fiat/OM 300, was a heavy truck created by Fiat Veicoli Industriali as part of its heavy range, with several drive layouts including the well-known 6x4. It was produced from 1974 to 1982 and became known as the Iveco 300 after Fiat Veicoli Industriali was transformed into Iveco. Two engine sizes were offered, one of 13,798 cubic centimetres giving 260 horsepower and one of 17,174 cubic centimetres giving 330 and 352 horsepower. It was used mainly as a road train, as a site truck with a box body or crane, and as a tractor with or without a chassis. Versions included the PC26/PT 6x4 road train for 56 tonnes, a 6x4 site truck of 1976 to 1978, the PC/300 F26 and F35 site trucks and the PT33 and PT35 tractor and semitrailer units of 1980 and 1981. Military versions were also built for the Italian army and foreign armies, among them the 6x4 Fiat 120M and the 6x6 Fiat 260 PM 35. It left production in 1979, was sold for three more years and then gave way to the more modern Iveco 330.
