The Isuzu TD/TP was a family of heavy trucks that Isuzu built from 1959 as the successor to the TX. It began as a bonnet truck of 7 to 8 tonnes capacity, larger than the TX, and was later joined by the TXD, a 6 tonne truck that took over from the TX. The TP series added a rear double-axle truck of 10 tonnes in 1962, and a new bonnet truck appeared in 1963 with 190 PS, a 4.9 metre wheelbase and a 5 metre load bed. Cab-over versions arrived in 1962 and were fully redesigned in 1968, with payloads of 11 to 12 tonnes and the 11 litre E110 engine, and tractor units, 6x4 models and dump trucks followed. Cab-over production ended in November 1972, when the New Power took over and reused the cab, and bonnet-type production ended in October 1979.
