Isuzu New Power

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Isuzu New Power was a heavy truck line that Isuzu built from 1972 to 1983 as the successor to the TD and TP. New Power was originally the name of the engine, and the trucks were usually called New Power Z or by series names such as V10SS. The range was wide, with dump trucks, cargo trucks, tractors and trucks for private sites, and it carried the V10S and V10SS badges depending on whether it used the 295 horsepower or 320 horsepower V10 engine. A 12 cylinder 350 horsepower engine was added in 1982. Cab styling changed several times, with the grille nicknamed the gorilla face in 1975 and the robot face in 1979, when the New Power name was dropped from catalogues. It was also built under licence in South Korea from 1973 to 1995. Production stopped in August 1983 and the 810 replaced it.
