Isuzu 810

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Isuzu 810 was a heavy duty truck that Isuzu introduced in 1983 as the successor to the Isuzu New Power range, and that the Isuzu Giga replaced in 1995. Outside Japan the series carried the letters C for rigid trucks and E for semi-tractors, and its domestic rivals were the Nissan Diesel Resona, the Hino Super Dolphin and the Mitsubishi Fuso The Great. It offered the Engine One-Key System, which handled preheating and starting from the ignition key, and a seat and bed system whose folding seats enlarged the sleeping space. It became the 810 Super in 1986 with the turbocharged 6SD1 engine, the 810 Super II in 1989 and the 810EX in 1992, which used the new 6WA1 24-valve OHC diesel. The lineup covered 6x2, 8x4, 6x4 and 4x4 rigid trucks, semi-tractors and snowplows, and the final 810 models were discontinued in mid-1995.
