Honda introduced the CB500 Four in February 1972 at the Racing and Sporting Motorcycle Show in London, where Motorcycle Mechanics called it one of the show stealers, with four cylinders in line across the frame, four carburettors, a single overhead camshaft and a five speed gearbox that gave the performance of a 650 cc twin. It was sold in the US market from then until 1973. This page belongs to the Honda CB500 Four (single generation), 1971 to 1978 model years; the generation page and the Honda CB500 Four model page link to the other model years, so the changes of neighbouring years can be read in order.
