Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda made the CBR1100XX Super Blackbird, model code SC35, a sport bike in the CBR series, from 1996 to 2007. It was developed to challenge the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11 as the world's fastest production motorcycle, and Honda succeeded with a top speed of 177 mph. Two years later the title passed to the Suzuki Hayabusa, which reached 193 mph. The Blackbird is named after the Lockheed SR-71, also a speed record holder, and it has the largest-displacement engine in Honda's CBR range. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into one generation: the SC35 (1996 to 2007 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
