1988 Honda Shadow

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The VT800C Shadow came out for the 1988 model year, the sixth year of the Shadow series, with an 800cc engine of the same bore as the original Shadow 750 but a stroke longer by 5.1 mm, a four speed transmission and wire wheels with spokes and rims. Honda built it for North America only, and only for the 1988 model year. The VLX VT600C was a new model in 1988, with a rear suspension using a single shock, a low seat height of 27.1 inches and a 583 cc 52 degree V-twin, and the VT800C took the place of the VT750C.
