1986 Honda Gold Wing

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Small updates continued on the 1986 GL1200I, but the significant change was that Honda's plant in Anna, Ohio had been producing every Gold Wing engine since July 1985. Dolby noise reduction joined the Aspencade audio system in 1986. The SE-i (Special Edition, injected) first appeared in 1986 as essentially a repainted GL1200L, sold only in the US, and it lasted one year because the high cost of fuel injection forced Honda back to carburetors for 1987.
