In 1982 the Express received a new frame design and the two-speed transmission seen the previous year on the NA50. Honda dropped the Express II, and a new model, the Urban Express (NU50), replaced it, with a frame like the NA50's and a drivetrain identical to the Express SR's except for the transmission gearing and the electric starter. The Urban Express Deluxe (NU50M) was the same but with an electric starter and larger battery.
