The American Accord sedan and coupe got a small facelift in September 2000 for the 2001 model year, with a redesigned front fascia, rear bumper, side skirts, taillights and wheels. V6 models also gained traction control that the driver could switch off, a first for the Accord. The DX Value Package was added for 2001. In Australia a facelift in March 2001 dropped the manual transmission option, and the European Accord had a minor facelift in 2001 with a new Type V trim.
