For the new Touring range, an all two door lineup of the SS, SL and the GS on top, Honda added a livelier engine with twin constant velocity carburettors to the Life on 1 May 1972, making up to 36 PS at 9,000 rpm. On 15 June 1972 the Life received a minor facelift with redesigned grilles. The Life Step Van went on sale on 20 September 1972, and the way it was packaged shows the tall wagon style that is so popular in today's kei cars. A few markets, Australia among them, imported this version of the Life, and the four door version entered the market there in the middle of 1972.
