The TR3 is the British sports car that the Standard Motor Company of Coventry produced from 1955 to 1962, a traditional open two seater and an evolution of the earlier TR2 with greater power and improved braking. Updated variants, popularly but unofficially known as the TR3A and TR3B, entered production in 1957 and 1962. In 1956 its front brakes changed from drums to discs, a first for a British series production car, and the Michelotti styled TR4 succeeded it. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the TR3 (1955 to 1957); the TR3A (1957 to 1962).
